Demographics has been viewed as destiny, yet you would not want to use it as a trading signal in the short run. Following population trends would have not worked because it would have put too much emphasis on EM equities over the last decade; nevertheless, these demographic trends should not be ignored, and they produce some key pressures on all markets. Demographics, however, are not just about investing in the growing problem. It is also about investing in developed market companies that service these growing population regions.
