Why following China is important in one graph

Why do I have to follow the Chinese economy? There is no question it is big; however, more important is China's connection with the rest of the world. The map says it all in one picture. All of the red represents countries which have China as their number 1 trading partner and the orange represents countries which have China as their number 2 trading partner. The connections matter especially in emerging markets. As China goes, so goes the rest of the world. Similarly, if the the world slows, China will feel the economic pain.
