Investing and trading in climate change - Part 3

Natural hazards effect all food production areas

Natural climate cycles are intensifying

§Warmer ocean temperatures are believed to be increasing the intensity and frequency of El Niño-Southern Oscillation.

§An El Niño event occurs when above average sea temperatures exist in the eastern Pacific, which generates large rainfall in the eastern Pacific and central United States and droughts in Australia and Central America during the Northern Hemisphere summer.

§La Niña events happen when there are lower than normal sea temperatures in the eastern Pacific, inducing warm and dry weather in central U.S. and large amounts of rainfall in Australia during the Northern Hemisphere winter.
